Revealed: The Sterling, A 73-Story Mixed-Use Tower

Plans to develop a 73-story mixed-use project at 555 N Miami Ave have been submitted by a developer.

The proposal includes:

  • 73-story tower
  • 956-foot tower height
  • 362 residential units
  • 300 hotel rooms
  • 55,400 square feet of office
  • 3,030 square feet of retail
  • 9,820 square feet of restaurant

Miami’s Urban Development Review Board is scheduled to review the plans on October 6.

If approved, it would be built on a lot purchased by Turkish developer Okan Group from the Central Baptist Church.

Behar Font is the architect. According to documents submitted, the design was inspired by a tulip.

Lol, much like the pictures on the internet that causes that to happen, this building is a fantasy that will never happen. These are concept buildings and like concept cars they never look the way they did on the drawing board once they are built… that is if they are built at all.

We certainly understand that here, but please, just give us a moment. lol

Hopefully to save construction costs they won’t straighten the edges, one of the few things that makes it stand out from the rest.

They’ve been around since 1972 in Turkey. These aren’t chumps. This project is riding the coattails of the Miami World Center and Grand Central. It may herald where and how the next cycle will manifest.

Both MWC and GrandCentral will be catalyst for more development…these large projects always are.

Same is expected from Genting casino for the Omni A&E area.

Doesn’t mean they don’t want to flip the land. We’ve seen it many times in Miami.

Erdogan is a lapdog to the Persian Gulf and Israel for barking at the West. His country is controlled by a mafia who do shit tons of construction, so maybe we can be optimistic about it.

On Oct 6th I’m sure the board will complain about them.

Anonymous

Yup, too pretty and too perfect for Miami and they will conclude with: The people here can’t have nice things, followed by an evil laugh.

Too good to be true. I doubt it gets built, but easily top three best proposals Miami has had this cycle.

I have to say, this will be THE building of buildings in Miami.
However, I don’t want to get my hopes too high. Everytime something spectacular gets on the drawing boards, it doesn’t get built.

Nothing bad to say, it’s simply fucking cool. Finally, uniqueness.

This has nothing to do with the topic but same neighborhood soo, any of you guys familiar with Marina Blue? There’s a unit a like in the building and I’m considering buying it but I see so many units beeing sold there… is there any issue with the building?

Million dollar listings for a building with a damn CVS and Subway at the bottom.

Anonymous

There are many buildings in NY with chain retail at the bottom. So what? It’s better than some anti-pedestrian parking space.

Anonymous

Yes, chain stores like Starbucks. Not low-tier crap like CVS, a DRUG store which doesn’t even sell the world’s most ubiquitous drug called tobacco anymore, and Subway which smells worse than a homeless guy across the street.

Anonymous

I actually see the CVS in the first floor as a BIG plus… so any one any comments regarding the building? Any hidden flaws or management issues? Thanks

really nice, but this is Miami, it will never happen or it will take 10 years before they dig in the shovel. Politicians have to get paid first.

It sort of reminds me of the Trump Tower which was proposed in Tampa, but hopefully won’t experience the same fate of not being built. FYI, it was a licensing deal before you try and talk shit.

This has to be built, I don’t care how the economy is, how the market is, whatever other issues may be present, this is a beauty that will be erected, in no more than 5 years. It will make me proud!
