Romero Britto’s Work At Dolphin’s Stadium Is Being Painted Over As Part Of Renovation

Romero Britto’s polarizing artwork is being covered up at Joe Robbie Stadium.

Dolphins owner Stephen Ross had brought in Britto to decorate the stadium in 2009, shortly after he bought the team. It was part of an effort by Ross to bring his idea of South Beach to the team, which also included adding minority owners such as Jennifer Lopez.

The artwork is being removed as part of the first phase of the stadium’s renovation, which is nearing completion. The team is expected to play in the renovated for the first time in about 47 days.
