Russell Galbut In Negotiations To Buy Israeli Soccer Club Hapoel Tel Aviv

Media outlets in Israel are reporting that Miami residents and Crescent Heights partners Russell Galbut and Sonny Kahn are in advanced negotiations to buy Israeli soccer club Hapoel Tel Aviv.

The price is said to be around 30 million shekels, along with the assumption of 8.5 million in debt. The team’s budget would grow to 80 million shekels.

According to Wikipedia, the team is standard-bearer of the Israeli left. Fans of the team, which wears red uniforms, have been referred to as communists in the past.

Fans of the team have expressed concern that the team might stop playing games on Shabbat under the new owners.
