Sawgrass Mills, which is America’s biggest outlet mall and among the biggest malls and tourist destinations in America, will be undergoing a renovation.
The entirety of the original shopping center common area will be remodeled by late 2020, in time for the mall’s 30th anniversary.
“Sawgrass Mills has evolved into a renowned global shopping destination,” said David Gott, Sawgrass Mills General Manager. “The center has gone through six expansions and brought a long list of retail, dining and entertainment firsts to the market in its 30 years. We are excited to embark on the property’s largest renovation to date in our mission to deliver an unparalleled shopping experience.”
Floors will be replaced with porcelain tile accented by marble and stone, with new seating and tables, LED light fixtures and open skylight designs.
Food courts will instead be rebranded as food halls, with new dining options added.
New entrances will feature colorized glass, decorative metal panels, and permanent canopies, along with new landscaping and improved lighting and signage.
A new retailer is also being added. Primark, a European brand known for dirt cheap clothing, will open at Sawgrass in the summer of 2020.
A hotel is also planned to be built on site. AC Hotel by Marriott – Sawgrass Mills will include 174 rooms, with work set to begin this spring. Opening is expected in fall of 2020.
