Seminoles Unveil $1.8 Billion Guitar-Shaped Hotel In Hollywood

If Florida lawmakers approve a deal between Rick Scott and the Seminole tribe, it would allow for a new casino to be built in Miami (possibly on the Resorts World Miami site.)

The Seminole Tribe would also spend $1.8 bilion to expand their compound in Hollywood as part of the deal. They revealed plans today for a massive expansion of their Hollywood resort:

  • A new 800-room hotel, shaped like a guitar (hotel room count will reach a total of 1,273)
  • $100 million swimming pool complex
  • Five new restaurants, a buffet and nightclub

Although the design is unconventional, I do like how it fits the landscape…Florida is a place people come to have fun… I think it will be a nice addition..

Why are people putting up such a stink about tackiness or whatever? This is in the middle of nowhere; not like it’s right in front of the skyline, like Skyrise or anything? Should be positive to have any major development in this area to spread the wealth.

I have a great time everytime I go to Vegas. Great restaurants. Great shows. Great bars. Great shopping. What do we have? We have the world-class Seaquarium, Monkey Jungle, Coral Castle, Zoo Miami (without Miami Wilds because of the endangered bugs), and lets not forget our fantastic array of Cirque shows…oh, sorry, we don’t have any Cirque shows, they are all in Vegas.

If those tacky people bring as much money to our neck of the woods as they spend in Vegas, I welcome them with open arms.
