Signage Installed At Site Where 61-Story Brickell Gateway Tower Planned

In Brickell, signs have just been installed at the site where a developer is planning a 61-story tower called Brickell Gateway.

According to the signs, ultra-luxury apartments are planned, along with retail.

Logos for developers Gazit Horizons and Atlantic Pacific Communities are seen on the signs.

In July, Miami-Dade Planners issued an approval letter for the project after it passed through Administrative Site Plan Review.

In August, the developers completed a utilities agreement for 504 apartments and 18,287 square feet of retail. A garage with 344 parking spaces is also planned as part of the project, plans filed with the county show.

Also in August, the FAA issued approval for a permanent tower height of 761 feet above ground, or 772 feet above sea level.

Corwil is the architect.

Brickell Miami Winning!

Wow plus 1Southside Park Sentral and the Magic 8 (calle8) building, the pedestrian promenade along the Underline to the Miami River in Brickell will be most iconic boulevard in Miami.

And don’t forget the 843 FT tall tower one block south of Brickell Gateway.

Of course, Summit Brickell too – all going to enhance this central promenade and raise the skyline up!

It’s too far a walk from central Brickell, and in the worst traffic area so it’s hard to get to by car too. This area is better suited for Trader Joe’s or new Whole Foods.

Anon

I only brought it up because Brickellites like to mention that Aston Martin is “practically Brickell”

I guess it’s not? I guess it’s actually really far? Certainly too far to walk, apparently.

Anonymous

Yeah maybe in your head where you hear imaginary voices of what “Brickellites like to mention” – quit being so envious and stereotyping people in this city. The goes of Aston Martin are spectacular from Brickell, there’s nothing there to see up close yet.

There’s a Publix across the street. Lower your head and you’ll be able to see it.

Anon

Publix, especially the 3 in Brickell, offer a very subpar shopping experience with a limited selection of low-quality food. Its prices are about the same as those at Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s. However, despite the similar pricing, Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s stand out with their superior quality and variety, making them more appealing experience overall to Brickell residents and workers.

Anonymous

You worded that like a marketing rep. for Whole Foods. Nicely done. Whole Foods has fine meat quality, but as for being “about the same” pricing as Publix? It’s around 7-10% more expensive overall than Publix.

Spot on

I used to live in NC and Publix came there a few years ago and it’s really nice. Imagine my disappointment at the one in Brickell city center. It’s more akin to a low budget grocery store with its limited options and mostly prepackaged produce. I’m used to it being similar to a Whole Foods. What happened?!

Anonymous

It’s not like a standard Florida Publix, they’re not sending their best to Miami. Terrible management!

We are going to have a city full of parking garages, destroying the esthetics of the city. First thing you see in a building is the parking podium, no one is walking with their neck flexed looking up. Example: Sexy Fish- exposed above parking. SLS and Brickell Heights – Wallpaper covered parking and many more etc …The city should step in and implement new regulations.

Because there’s no book stores and it’s a huge demand with no supply. Brickell needs something for everyone. Also some people actually care about the community and don’t want to scam people with expensive cheap food to make a living.

The metro movers in Brickell are the best part of this neighborhood, brings the entire city to life and adds authenticity to the city experience

Sven

Everyone has their own preference. MetroMover tracks are appealing to some.

My decades in Brickell were highlighted by the Baywalk.
For me and my friends, nothing was better than walking from Brickell after work along the Baywalk for a steak dinner at ole Wolfgangs, and a Miami Heat game.

Then taking a nice run along that same bay walk and around Brickell Key in the mornings when the sun is rising over the ocean and dolphins are swimming around and making playful noises.

That’s just me.

MetroMovers and their concrete structures could be the best for others.

Anonymous

Thank you for sharing your thoughts. While seeing dolphins is a wonderful experience, what truly sets Brickell apart is the vibrant community it offers. Rather than just the waterfront, which Florida has in abundance, it’s the diverse opportunities to connect with colleagues, neighbors, and friends that make this area unique. You can always take a stroll to see the dolphins, but for some, people-watching and architecture tours can be just as captivating in the city center as gazing at the water.

Anon

You may see a dolphin once a year if you live next to Sven, but is it worth having to see Sven every day? Improve your life. Go to a zoo for dolphins. Live in the hub of everything.

Young people and people who are social climbers (the smart ones at least) understand that Ultra Luxury living is something to aspire to, not something that anyone owes to you.

Living in Brickell is amazing. If for no other reason than you are living in a community with other people who are motivated to improve themselves on a daily basis.

Anonymous

The Brickell neighborhood’s central area is undergoing a rapid transformation into an epicenter of ultra-luxury living. Thanks to the RTZ and Live Local projects, developers now have the opportunity to construct taller buildings on the previously height-restricted western side of Brickell. This change promises breathtaking views and a harmonious balance of iconic super-tall structures across the Brickell skyline.

Seems like the “Ultra-luxury living” like the Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, etc are all very close to Brickell Avenue or east of that.

Because of the small lot, the 16 storey podium may challenge the Met 2 garage behind Wells Fargo Center for the tallest if not most storeys. In the renderings it’s showed as being almost as tall as the Chase building next door which would put it near 100 meters or over 300 ft.

Anon

Absolutely insane. Horrendous urban design.

Anonymous

Why are there so many parking spaces in every single building in Miami? This of any buildings should be lined from street to sky in units, without any parking. People walk, live, and work in this part of the City.

Outdated thinking

Not to mention a lot of units sit empty. I’ve never seen my parking deck more than a third or so full and that’s probably a stretch. The public decks are never close to max capacity either. If people really want to live in these areas, and it would appear they do, they’ll figure out what to do with their cars. My wife and I went down to one when we moved here and barely use it.
