Signs Of Activity At One Bayfront Plaza

There is new activity possibly related to demolition at One Bayfront Plaza, where a supertall tower is planned.

On February 1, a process number was created with Miami’s Building Department for demolition work, records show.

However, the application intake was still showing as incomplete as of this morning, so the exact scope of what is planned could not be ascertained.

Also this week, a photo uploaded to Twitter appeared to show furnishings being discarded from inside the building.

The property sits in a prime downtown Miami location, and both demolition and new construction of a supertall will have a major impact on the city skyline.

When are they going to do something with that fountain at Bayfront Park? Either add water and make it a fountain or target tourists saying that a meteorite fell there in the past and we turned into a landmark. Just do something about it, it looks terrible.

It’s a sustainable waterless fountain clearly…

That would require investment in the public by the city of Miami…which, isn’t really a thing

If the public is investing in anything its the Miami Riverfront / Greenway.

It will be reimagined as a water bowl for Godzilla.

With all of the money that park generates through festivals and events, you’d think it would receive more love. Looks like the city takes that money and spends it elsewhere.

Apparently they don’t generate enough. And want to ruin the parks even further. Let’s start a petition

Now if we could only get some of those buildings on Flagler demolished and redeveloped downtown would be in fantastic shape.

The non-historic ones, that is. For example, most the block behind 50 Biscayne, which has been an absolute embarrassment for the area.

I walked by there the other day and all the shops and restaurants were closed. Can’t believe this is finally getting built.

Tibor Hollo kicking the can down the road for the past fifteen years, or ten if you want to give him the benefit of doubt with economy crashing in 2008.

There’s horrible parking lots in front of FTX Arena, prime real estate across from MWC and we still have that empty Wilkins building that has been abandoned over four years now. Melo can develop each of those lots in a year!

Worse than the fountain is the “thing” to the left of it. It’s a concrete slab on a hill. Isn’t the idea of a park to feature green things?

I am still skeptical, this is miami, I would not be surprised that we still get another cereal box, yes a cereal box of a building in such prime location.
