Site Work Permit Filed For $185M Riverside Wharf, Contractor Named

A site work permit has been filed for the $185M Riverside Wharf complex in downtown Miami, with a contractor attached.

The site work permit application was filed on October 15, and lists Moss & Associates as the contractor.

It is the latest progress on a project that is likely to transform the area.

In late July, a seawall permit was issued, with a Notice of Commencement filed for the seawall work in August.

In September, a closing party was held for The Wharf Miami to make way for the development.

Also in September, the developer signed a utilities deal with Miami-Dade’s Water & Sewer Department to supply the new development.

According to the utilities agreement completed on September 5, the new Riverside Wharf project is planned to include:

  • 30,791 square feet of full service restaurant
  • 6,273 square feet of retail
  • 48,446 square feet of bar/cocktail lounge
  • 174 hotel rooms
  • 1,102 square feet of office
  • 14,313 square feet of banquet hall
  • 18 slip marina

MV Real Estate Holdings in conjunction with Driftwood Capital and Merrimac Ventures are the developers.

Cube3 is the architect, with landscape design by Savino-Miller Design Studio.

Miami winning

It’s great to see projects like this coming to the area. This part of downtown desperately needs an overhaul and this will usher in change.

this looks spectacular. I hope the under deck park project happens, so so much potential

Is there any plan for the homeless population that hangs out in this area?

Once this goes up the parking lots where all the tents are will be so busy they’ll be forced out.

The parking lots are being transformed into parks.

That would be incredible! Can you please share any resource with this info? I’d love to read about this…

Wrong overpass. The best use of land under I-95 is to move that FP&L substation.

No this is in this plan. You can see the areas partitioned off in the photo, where the new gardens, etc. will be. Miami and developers are doing this all over the urban core, like the Underline.

This will connect to the Underline via a new bike path. Hotel guests can enjoy vintage pink, blue and yellow bikes to ride to Brickell City Center and return for a pool-to-yacht party.

You might discover that the yacht charters to Miami Beach and back for an evening in Downtown or Wynwood.

This isn’t going to connect to the underline since it’s on the north side of the river and the metrorail on the north side isn’t continous for the purpose of the underline (basically ends at gov center).

There’s basically kissing at the bridge, just needs a proper painted bike crossing with barriers over the bridge and its golden path to the Underline.

The underline isn’t just an end point, it’s a launching point for more areas and a fully connected bike channel in the core. Every street should look like the Underline.

They usually move north as the city develops. The huge underpass next to MWC has plenty of room

Another park is going there actually – MWC will be surrounded by green and public space.

Why don’t they put a park here, it’ll be ready way before the signature overpass next to MwC

There are no plans in place to transform this area. It will remain asphalt parking lots under a highway for the foreseeable future.

What homeless population, there’s about 5, that’s as many you’ll see on your footstep of Billionaire row in Manahattan.

You really need to get out of Brickell more.

Excited about Miami River Walk’s transformation into a vibrant hub for urban residents and visitors. The Dream Hotel in NYC is a top spot. Miami’s shift from industry to a thriving residential and tourist destination around the Miami River is fantastic!

Cobblestoned Streets

I’ve seen these renderings so many times, but I just realized the road is cobblestone. It’s going to look amazing, like the South Street Seaport in Manhattan, with boats and old cobblestone streets. I’m thinking about how it might look 250 years from now in Miami (a bit of a dream, I know).

Even the parking lot is cobblestone. But I feel like we’re missing an opportunity here. Why not add lush tropical plants, some ponds or streams to create a river-like entrance for the hotel? It could also bring some greenery to the concrete areas. People might not realize it, but when it rains, those shaded and covered pathways could be perfect spots for shops, restaurants, and kiosks all the way to Brickell and Downtown.

It’s just for the render dude.

The cobblestone streets really make the entire property and ground level pop, contrasting to the smoother elevated weaving roadways leading to the property.

I wondering how with all the new construction and pilings being driven if that is affecting the aquifer. People need water.

What happened to the Wharf to be opened at Bayside Market? Or do I remember wrong?

Anonymous

Bayside Market needs a major modernization, especially now that many luxury supertalls will be built right across from it.

So many luxury superalls being built around the Miami River. Love to see it!

Not only is it taking long, it looks exactly like it used to look before the “renovation”. I walked by there the other day and it was very confusing.

Classic Miami “don’t worry the thing you loved will come back here” and then it never happens. Remember how we were promised Perricone’s would re-open in the same spot?

Anonymous

seriously…and when’s negroni opening? What a waste of prime space so far…

No.

Asking for a friend

Remember how we were promised a park there? And the City allegedly profited from it by leasing it to Perricone’s, so the park went back to the grantor, and now we pay to rent the land with our tax dollars. If we are going to rent it, do we have a properly funded Brickell Parks Department and plan to revitalize this park?

People in Brickell rarely go to Bayside. It’s a hike, but they do frequent the limited spots on the river walk. This is a much welcomed addition to our evolving urban landscape!
