Site Work, Vertical Permits Filed For Edgewater’s 40-Story Cove

Multiple new permit filings have been submitted for the Edgewater property where the 40-story Cove Miami tower is planned.

On January 8, a phased full vertical permit application was submitted to Miami’s Building Department.

On December 30, a site work permit was applied for.

Both permits list Kaufman Lynn Construction as the contractor.

A master construction permit was applied for in 2022.

In October, a press release said that conversion of reservation to contracts for the planned 134 condo units had begun, with construction planned to commence in Q1 2025.

The team has already completed pre-development work, including demolition and the construction of a new seawall.

SB Development and Hazelton Capital Group are the developers.

Weird way to carve out balcony space, all they ended up doing was make the floor plan more inefficient.

exactly. those looonnnngg. balconies that are triangular can’t fit a chair for the last 6 feet. Should just be square and give that to the interior.

Shame, too. Edgewater had potential to be like Chicago’s Gold Coast, with tasteful skyscraper towers and historic mansions repurposed for restaurants and social clubs. Instead we got upright boxes (condo towers) and sideways boxes (parking garages).

yep. Edgewater had so much potential. From east of Biscayne Blvd to the water, could have been one of the most desirable areas in all of Miami. Instead they just let developers turn it into some dystopian district with no walkability, massive exposed garages, max out height for all buildings along the water, etc.
