Skyviews Miami, The ‘Iconic’ 176-Foot Observation Wheel, Is Now Open To The Public

Downtown Miami’s finally has its iconic Ferris Wheel, and it is now open to the public.

Skyviews Miami held a ribbon cutting ceremony yesterday at Bayside Marketplace.

Backers of the project have said that it will be a Ferris Wheel on steroids, and also that the wheel will be  iconic.

The project is said to have cost $18 million to build.

Riders will be able to sit in an enclosed climate-controlled gondolas with glass bottom floors.

Rides will cost $17 and last around 15 minutes. There’s a Florida resident discount for the first few weeks of $14, and there are also discount for children, seniors, and the military.

An LED lightshow on the wheel has also been activated at night.

It gets really angry for no reason.
Its testicles have shrunk to the size of peanuts.

I call that sugarcoating right there. They called it the Ferris Wheel on steroids when it’s no match compared to the London Eye. Or even the Dubai Eye for that matter.

“Iconic”====bringing the Dade County Youth Fair to Bayside

whatta joke

Anonymous

I’m not sure what’s iconic about it? Compare this to others and it looks more like something that belongs at a carnival. Iconic is what you see in Vegas, London, Dubai and even Orlando has a 400ft wheel that catches your attention with it’s size! This only being 175 just looks normal, the point of having an observation wheel at 350ft or more is it’s presence at that height! also for the view if your only 175ft that’s like being at the top of a small building! At $17 for 15 minutes for a mediocre view is not a good value.

Plus if the SkyRise is built, this becomes even more hideous.

That Skyrise crap is one poorly designed ugly duckling that only needs to stay in whoever head that drew it up.

SUPER TACKY!
Miami is way to elegant for this.

Ultra is elegant?

Anonymous

Ultra is an event though, not something that will stay there for good. SkyRise is way better IF IT HAPPENS

Ha!.. $17 for a ride on this thing? Yeah, we’ll see how many people pay that much to ride in a circle in the sky.

Anonymous

Lots and lots of tourists will.

Anonymous

Um yeah, sure, a lot of tourist are really looking to come to Miami and pay $17 just to ride on a Ferris Wheel.

You’re as looney as some of the people that make up Miami’s government if you believe that.

It’s a Ferris wheel. Nothing iconic about it especially since there’s over a dozen cities around the world with bigger ones!

Anonymous

the following words should be removed from english language…….iconic…..awesome….devastating….landmark….unity…..they have zero meaning ….but i do hope this is successful….kids will love it…..

Anonymous

And after a parent pays $17 for a kid or kids to ride on this thing, then what else do they do in the area to excite them that’ll cost another $17 or more that I believe most parent or parents don’t have or don’t wanna spend again?

Anonymous

This observation wheel is indeed ridiculous and an embarrassment to Miami. Obviously, if the idea was an observation wheel, Miami should have upped the game and built it slightly higher than the next tallest observation wheel. We are suppose to move forwards, not backwards. Notwithstanding, the price of $17 to ride it is not a lot of money. I generally find people in Miami to complain all the time on fees/charges. They want a world class City at Tallahassee prices. Go see what things cost in London, Tokyo or Toronto.

People are getting kicked out of where they live because they lost their jobs due to Covid and this bozo thinks kicking out $17 to ride on thing should be no big deal to people?
