Sports & Social Coming To Miami Worldcenter’s Jewel Box, With Rooftop Restaurant

A new dining & entertainment venue called Sports & Social has just been announced at Miami Worldcenter.

The new entertainment complex will be located at Worldcenter’s Jewel Box building, which is now under construction.

It will include around 20,000 square feet of space, with a third-level open-air restaurant overlooking the adjacent World Square public park and plaza.

The centerpiece of the venue will be a 53-foot LED display showing multiple games and sporting events at once. There will also be games such as skee-ball, foosball, pop-a-shot, arcade games, shuffleboard, and Beirut.

The new facility will help Worldcenter to deliver its goal of building “walkable areas that provide a welcoming environment with beautiful public spaces and a mix of experiences,” Worldcenter’s developer said in a statement.

ICRAVE, which is based in Miami and New York, is designing the new facility.

Sports & Social is a concept by Live! Hospitality & Entertainment, one of the largest and most successful developers and operators of restaurants and entertainment concepts in the United States.

Another Sports & Social location is planned at Dolphin Mall, opening in winter 2022.

That looks incredibly lame. Belongs in Orlando.

Lame? What do you think is going to go in front of an arena dude.

Well Bowlero, a sports bar, is already taking up 50% of the Jewel Box. Don’t think it’s that outrageous to hope for something different given the “sports bar” box has already been checked.

These tenants….I’m half expecting them to announce Hooters next

With the target market being twenty-something boys who live in their parents’ basement in Kendall and Hialeah.

basements in Kendall and Hialeah? Are you a troll from the Mudwest?

My bad, I should have said “twenty something boys who live in their parents’ unpermitted addition in Hialeah.”

What a downgrade! We totally need more drunk idiots in Downtown. Let see if there’s any changes in DUI’s after this opens. LAME!

Regardless of what you put there it’ll increase the amount of drunk idiots…

The concept image is an image from “The Battery” in Atlanta GA. It’s a cool sports bar right outside the baseball stadium with a lot of beers on tap and a big dining menu.

This “idea” is a nice addition to Downtown – especially for our growing sports culture in the NBA, NFL, MLB, NHL, MLS and Formula 1.

Anonymous

I think its a great a addition. the one they have at battery park is an amazing venue

Can we please just get Fado to reopen? There’s zero places open early/willing to show football (soccer)

Anonymous

So many memories from Fado. MBV used to be one of the few places that was not the Beach or the Grove where you could bar hop. Not so much anymore. I think Wynwood has taken a lot of that crowd.

This is an odd choice considering the concept is extremely similar to Bowlero. Just my two cents.

Mike

Think Bowlero still planned? Sounds like this replaces that. Maybe they backed out. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Anon

No, it’s still planned. It was in the press release.

Anonymous

Yea for everyone thinking Miami world center is the center of the world this is definitely an odd choice

Anon

Literally no one thinks that.

Anonymous

Literally every article about world center all the comments are how it’s the best development when it’s a poor down grade of the original vision which was more like to a Hudson yard like development

Anon

With 15+ towers it is the second largest private development in the history of the United States. Downgraded? The project has grown by 3 towers so far.

FTX arena has at most 3 games per month. Having an sport bar in front of it does not makes sence. The crowd that look into it already has the 60 inches plus Tvs at home and the cheap beer in their fridge.

peej

Did you only check October’s preseason scheduling to arrive at your conclusion? ’cause it doesn’t make “sence”.

They average about 7 games per month, with 10 scheduled for March. None of this accounts concerts & special events, of which they host many.

This concept makes perfect sense for the location…

Go blow your money somewhere else brah. Plenty of places have resort casinos. If it’s that important to you, move there. I hear Atlantic City is nice.

So you’re the “VANGUARD’ of this city now? Are you also here to stop people from blowing their money on things like trying to pay for that five year old Mercedes Benz or BMW they really can’t affortd? Do you also dole out funds to help people who find themselves out on the streets after just the 1bd rm apts they were renting for $1,700 mo. suddenly increased to $2500 a month?

Here’s a little secret if you don’t know.. everybody who goes to a casino don’t gamble.. I know that’s shocking news to you. And here’s another secret you probably don’t know.. gambling isn’t the only thing casinos have to offer. See, if you got off your boring backside every once in a while and took just a tiny bit of your time check one out, you would’ve discovered that and more out about them. But nahhh.. people like you wanna run around with an “S” on your chest and tell other people what you don’t want in this city and where they should move.

Geezzz.. with dull people like you guys, it’s no wonder tourist bypass this city and go to Miami Beach to get entertained and excited.

^ Son, I was born and running around in Miami probably before your dad was swimming in your grandfather’s balls and you were swimming around in your dad’s. I lived in Miami before the Mariel Boatlift was happening, so take your “Johnny come lately” ass somewhere else and talk that brainless shit to your friends.

Anonymous

Which makes it super weird that you haven’t seen how literally any venue in the city is always playing latin american cumbia shit. Stop pretending you live here. Your old ass is in the burbs, don’t lie.

Only a dense and dimwitted haven’t done anything or been anywhere in their life fool like you would think that only one type of music will be played in a resort casino no matter what entity builds it.

It’s said that the older this planet gets, the dumber people will become and you’re the very truth of this saying.
