The name of the architecture firms involved in bidding for Downtown Miami’s Metrocenter project have been revealed, according to the SFBJ.
Metrocenter could also have 5,000 residential units, one of the bidders said.
Three bidding teams have emerged for the development, each comprised of multiple major developers.
According to the report, the architects now revealed as being associated with the bidders include:
- Foster + Partners – the architect for a partnership between Florida Value Partners, Cornerstone Group, and John Buck Company. The partnership is known as Met District Partners LLC
- Arquitectonica – the architect for a partnership between Related Urban, 13th Floor Investments, and Merrimac Ventures known as RUDG LLC
- Corwil – the architect for a partnership between Terra, Atlantic Pacific Companies, and Sterling Bay. The partnership is known as MetVision Partners LLC
The RUDG partnership is the one that said they could build up to 5,000 residential units, with 2,000 of those being workforce or affordable housing units.
RUDG also wants to build two office buildings and retail.
Miami-Dade has set a minimum of 2,000 units of affordable and workforce housing.
In addition, the county wants a new transit terminal, main library, HistoryMiami Museum, and a K-12 school and day care center.
Up to 23.7 million square foot could be developed on the Metrocenter properties, the county has said.
