Swire Properties isn’t expanding Brickell City centre to the west.
Outgoing Swire President Stephen Owens told an Urban Land Institute summit that they will build a fire station on a 7,500 square foot parcel of land acquired last month west of Brickell City Centre, according to The Real Deal.
Miami’s commission voted on a deal last week in which Swire would build the shell of a 6,500 square foot fire station for the city. The terms of that deal however, stated that the station would be located in the “N2 Block,” between Southeast 5th Street and Southeast 6th Street and between South Miami Avenue and Southeast 1st Avenue.
Swire’s new property is at 158 Southwest Seventh Street, west of the N2 Block. The developer paid $2.35 million for the property.
