Taiwan’s President Will Ask China Airlines To Consider Flight To Miami

The president of Taiwan will request that China Airlines investigate the feasibility of a nonstop flight to Miami, according to China Times.

President Tsai Ing-wen said that she was unaware that there was interest in such a route, until being informed by three Miami-area members of congress.

The three members of congress have promised greater support for Taiwan’s negotiations for membership in the Trans-Pacific Partnership is the route is established.

On Friday, Tsai landed at MIA on a China Airlines B777-300ER. The nonstop flight from Taipei took about 15 hours, thanks to favorable tailwinds.
