Target’s first ever location in Miami Beach is now open.
The company beat Trader Joe’s by opening yesterday, despite beginning construction much later. Both buildings are similar sizes, but the Trader Joe’s site is smaller and tighter (Trader Joe’s is rumored to be opening next week).
The South Beach Target store is a small format store at 32,900 square feet.
Target also announced plans to open a smaller format store in Coral Gables.
In South Beach, the Target includes a Starbucks and CVS, along with grocery, healthcare, beauty, clothing, and tech sections.
In Coral Gables the store will be even smaller at just 22,800 square feet. It will replace the OfficeMax at 1906 Ponce de Leon Blvd. Starbucks and a Pharmacy are also a part of the plans there, according to Gables Insider.
