The Crosby Miami Worldcenter Signs Utilities Deal For 450 Apartments

Miami-Dade County has signed a deal with the developer of The Crosby Miami Worldcenter to supply water and sewer for the new tower.

According to the July 11 agreement, The Crosby will include:

  • 450 apartments
  • 4,000 square feet of retail

No parking garage is being built, but condo owners will have the right to a space in nearby Miami Worldcenter garages.

DT G Block, LLC is the entity that signed the agreement. Related Group and Merrimac Ventures are the developers.

There has been some recent sitework at the property. However, there does not yet appear to be a construction permit pending.

I remember 10 years ago this place was not even close to being this developed. Now when I look at the first picture in the article and realize how much more is coming, I get reminded of how Miami, from the air, will probably have a downtown resembling Toronto or Chicago with incredible density

Don

Toronto is a sight to see.

Anonimouse

Toronto has a much larger skyline and many more pockets of density all over the place and they’re building more at a much faster rate. Toronto has more high rises than Chicago. Miami isn’t going to look like Toronto anytime soon. Not to mention that Toronto probably has the best mass transit system of any city in the New World, which lends itself to building out high rise pockets throughout the GTA.

But, but.. some people who come on this site say “Miami is the best city in the world?”

Conno Sir

Toronto’s skyline is beautiful and they have the CN Tower and lots of office buildings. They are also the city with the most high rises under construction right now. I remember before their boom started them coming to Miami to learn about it. Now we should be paying them a visit.

Anonimouse

In Toronto, they have at least one super tall under construction, maybe two. Both are going to be around 1,100’ in height. All major Canadian cities tend to be more urbanized and vertical than their American counterparts. Canadians try harder to battle sprawl not that Toronto isn’t sprawled out. That said, it’s freaking cold most of the year and the lake doesn’t compare to Biscayne Bay.

Their Spring and Fall are beautiful and summers are delicious except for 2 or 3 heat waves a year. Yes winters are cold but then you appreciate the change even more

Anonymous

yeah those fantastic Great Lakes climates…Toronto, Chicago, Cleveland, Buffalo…..short hot humid summers encased by long winters from hell

Guy

Buffalo summers have perfect weather, nothing like Miami summers

Anonymous

Where did you get these statistics from?

Anonymous

^ Come on now. This argument is just disingenuous. You can’t just take the population of Miami proper. You have to include at least Miami-Dade County, if not the greater metro area.

Anonimouse

The GTA and South Florida (Miami-Dade, Broward and Palm Beach County) have roughly the same population.

anonymous

City of Miami has a greater population density than Toronto. TO: 4.4k/sq-km (11k/sq-mi) MIA: 4.7k/sq-km (12k/sq-mi). Comparisons are fair.

Toronto’s mass transit system is an absolute joke. You must be kidding. The new world? It’s not even the best in Canada (Montreal is).

Best mass transit in the world? OK there. For starters, Montreal’s system is better than Torontos.

Who cares about Toronto? It’s in Canukistan. In Canada, milk comes in bags.

You obviously have never been. It’s a rich, sophisticated city with a cultural life and theater life second to NYC in North America.
And one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world

Anonymous

I would have said goodbye to America a loooong time ago in favor of Canada if it weren’t for the weather. I can barely handle even mild winters. lol

Anonymous

But isn’t the winter like half the year? Serious question. When I imagine rough winter, I think of Boston or Chicago, but Canada, where winters extend pretty much to May, must be even worse, right?

I’ll take Toronto any day over crime ridden Chicago, the worst thing that ever happened in Toronto was just that one Virgin loser guy who rented a van to run over people cause he was so frustrated and that guy wasn’t even a Canadian born citizen, he was from the Middle East or some garbage like that

The renderings not showing the train tracks is kinda misleading. But I love the tower and I love the fact that it doesn’t have a stupid parking podium

Anonymous

I wonder if that train will be there forever.

white flight

it will…..key infrastructure for inter modal transport logistics….if we really were flrst class city the tracks would probably be developed more

Anonymous

You also love the fact that you’re not the developer who has to worry about using his money to buy this site, deal with all the BS that the building and zoning depts you”ll go through in Miami, hire an architect firm plus a construction and landscaping firm, and then build the building and install the landscape around it.

Pi Space

That’s what they get paid a $100 million to do.

Bruce

Well you never see in the renderings all the other buildings that will be built. In 3 years, there won’t be a view in most downtown Condos..

So what’s wrong with the chickens?
They’re part of the package.
Would you rather be in San Francisco with the drug addicts?
I’ll take the hens and roosters anyday

Anonymous

^
Well go live on a farm somewhere and have at all the chickens you want.

You live in a city whose reputation was built on drugs.. and that would be drug wars, drug smuggling, drug addicts, drug money banks, drug developers, and cops and elected officials that were paid off by drug dealers. And now you wanna make fun of San Francisco like you’re making a point.

No, I don’t care for hens, chickens, roosters, pigs, cows, or anything else that belongs on a farm somewhere and not in peoples back yards. I didn’t grow up in Miami with that shit and I don’t understand why that BS is allowed in these days and times.
