Lights Are Now On At The Sales Center For Downtown Miami’s Supertall Waldorf Astoria Tower

The sales center for Downtown Miami’s 98-story Waldorf Astoria supertower has had its lights turned on.

The developers have not announced an opening date for the sales center.

According to a construction permit, the cost of construction for the sales center is estimated at $1.075 million. It will have a total of 6,144 square feet of space.

It will be located at 400 Biscayne, a block north of where the actual Waldorf construction site is at 300 Biscayne.

John Moriarty is the contractor for the sales center.

The Waldorf Astoria has been approved to rise 1,041 feet above ground, or 1,049 feet above sea level. That is almost 200 feet higher than any other building in Miami.

PMG, S2 Development, and Greybrook Realty Partners are the developers.

Sieger Suarez is the architect.

OMG!! Please let this happen, I love this building! We need more iconic and supertall buildings like this on downtown❤️

There’s noting “iconic” about the design of this building. There are quite a few cities in this world where you can find examples of this design.

Anonymous

New York, Chicago, Doha, Dubai, Beijing, Vancouver all easily come to mind.

Anonymous

True, but there is nothing like that in Miami. And by saying “iconic,” it has nothing to do with being the ONLY one of its type (as you showed).

Anonymous

Please.. be real. This actually shows architects ripping off someone’s else design because they’re too lazy to come up with their own.

Anonymous

So when are you going to submit plans for your own super tall tower, design it and then get it approved and then build it? 🤔🤫

Anonymous

You first.. I wanna know what you “planned, designed, got approved, and built?”

Anonymous

Im not the one here criticizing what others put together then call it lazy that would be you so im respectfully asking what you have put together thats better or even comparable seeing as others are to lazy…you have yet to answer that most likely because you don’t have an answer so you ask me the same thing…hmmm sound familiar sounds kinda “lazy” to me

People on this site criticize an architect’s designs all the time, which looks like you’re surprised about that. Some people come on this site and talk about liking that SkyRise design.. I don’t, to me (and others out there) it’s wacky and looks like it belong in an amusement park somewhere and not in the skyline. So I guess to you, I should read what others like but keep my opinions to myself?

It appears to me, you think like Donald Trump, in that he thinks there is no way the people in this country would think he shouldn’t be the president.

Anonymous

It appears to me that you are completely wrong one because I don’t like Trump so in the words of Trump you are “WRONG, TOTALLY…WRONG!!!” 2nd im grown so I say what I want just as you have thats the beauty of opinion that people can freely say what they want and believe in regardless of whether its right or wrong but still it has nothing to do with someone saying that others are lazy in design when they havnt and come up with anything better to surpass the current approvals 🤷🏼‍♂️

Yeah, it reminds me of the freefall ride at Six Flags Great Adventure. It’s not there any more sadly. Check it out guys- http://www.greatadventurehistory.com/Freefall.htm

Two or more things can be true at once…
Skyrise can look wacky and like it should be in an amusement park, and not be horrible. I personally think that Skyrise should be somewhere near a Ferris Wheel, a rock and roll restaurant, a Hooter’s, and an Alcoholic Slurpee shop.

what’s iconic about that?

Anonymous

It is iconic for Miami as they don’t really have anything like that.
So stop being a Negative-Nancy and enjoy having a great looking building that isn’t like any other in the area.

Because you don’t know the definition of ICONIC.
It is Iconic per the definition… iconic being different to the region.

So when are they going to start construction on the hotel?

Anonymous

It will add greatly to the Miami skyline, i’m sure a high end restaurant will be at its base.

Anonymous

Nothing screams high end dining like being across the street from Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.

Anonymous

Bubba Gump isn’t low end either and its not on biscayne blvd directly. Bubba also has a good key lime pie.

Please let this be a luxury building and not turn out as cheap as Echo. The side of Echo looking down Brickell Avenue has almost NO glass.

Anonymous

Gosh, you’d think Waldorf Astoria would be enough to tell you this is luxury. I’m sure the brand will demand nothing less.

Anonymous

At least Echo has curves, which makes it infinitely times better than this heap of stacked boxes.

wahhh!? Echo is all glass. Are you referring to Echo Brickell? Its a beautiful building (we live next door and call it our ANT FARM… tons of people living their Miami lives all in glass). There is no concrete really above their robotic parking.
For them living in the glass cubes that are now 80% less than they paid for them …. its a beautiful tower.

Who are buyers for this 1M plus product? Latin Americans are not buying with the strong dollar and New Yorkers don’t want to buy preconstruction and wait 4 years for their unit.

Anonymous

Chinese?

Anonymous

Who cares?

Anonymous G

Russians, Usa billionaires. A New Yorker might buy preconstruction and rent a nice apartment till they can move it. On a condo project I did we had several New Yorkers etc wait in early preconstruction stages for us to finish. They rented a apartment unit across the street.
