To Fight Off Emirates, Qatar May Add Cargo Flights On Miami-Doha Route

Qatar Airways continues to be thrilled with the performance of their flight to Miami, and is considering adding more service.

CEO Akbar Al Baker recently told airport officials that he is very happy with his decision to go daily on the flights, TNM has learned. Baker also said that he wants to add a freighter-only flight to MIA.

The new cargo service is being considered as a competitive tool against Emirates. That airline will soon launch nonstop flights to Dubai from Orlando, and plans to offer a trucking service to and from Miami’s cargo hub, which is one of the world’s largest.
