Top-Off Near For Curvy, French-Designed Symphony Park Thompson Hotel In South Beach

The Thompson Hotel in South Beach (also known as the Symphony Park Hotel) is nearing top off, new photos by contractor Ortega Construction Company show.

The hotel is being designed by French architect Rudy Ricciotti, with a curvy façade.

When complete, the Thompson South Beach will include:

  • 150 hotel rooms
  • 122 mechanical parking spaces
  • Ground floor retail and restaurant
  • A rooftop pool, bar and restaurant.

Thompson is a brand operated by Hyatt.

Hyatt also has a much bigger project about to break ground across the street. The 800-room Grand Hyatt Miami Beach, is planned to become the Miami Beach Convention Center hotel.

Too short and stumpy, and for what? It hasn’t protected the aesthetics of the area whatsoever.

I hope they did their cantilever calculations correct. Those balconies look deep.

The elected officials in Miami Beach think they can get the desired tourist they want to see on South Beach, but when you have a business to run, at the end of the day you count how many green backs you made regardless who you made them off of.
