Trump Delays Construction Start Of Estates At Acqualina In Sunny Isles

The Trump Group (not affiliated with presidential candidate Donald Trump) has announced that the $1.5 billion Estates at Acqualina in Sunny Isles Beach will be delayed, according to The Real Deal:

  • Construction on the South Tower is being pushed back to the third or fourth quarter of 2017, instead of the second quarter
  • Reservations are no longer being accepted at the North Tower, and construction is on hold indefinitely. Sales for the tower will begin again once the North Tower reaches 80 percent sold
  • 32 buyers from the North Tower have been moved to the South Tower and offered larger unit sizes
  • Unit count is decreasing to 150 units in the South Tower and 92 units in the North for a combined 242 condos, down from 265
  • 85 units are now said to be firm reservations converting to contracts, or 55 percent of the South Tower
  • Prices remain $3.8 million to $9 million, with penthouses at $36 million
