Five-Story Alton Road Project With 'Prominent' Grocer Planned

Five-Story Alton Road Project With ‘Prominent’ Grocer Planned

Elion Partners and members of the Soffer family are proposing a five-story mixed-use project on the corner of 17th Street and Alton Road.

The project takes advantage of newly increased height limits in the area. It will include a 30,699 square foot ground floor with a “prominent” supermarket. The upper levels will include 221 parking spaces, along with 29 residential units.

The development site includes a former Shell gas station and an adjacent surface parking lot. The developers are requesting city approval to build above a public alley between the two sites, with a hearing before the Planning Board scheduled for next month.

Touzet Studio is the project architect.

Awesome, bring it on! I wonder who the grocer could be? Nearby we have Publix, Fresh Market and Whole Foods.

Trader Joe’s??? Probably wishful thinking, TJs usually aren’t in high rent areas. But there always hope.

Don’t forget the second Whole Foods that is supposed to be going in on the Wells Fargo site about 3 blocks to the north… Perhaps they will move Epicure to this project and have a side deal going on with that building?

Looks really awesome!!! Hope it’s an affordable alternative.. I’m tired of spending $55 at whole foods for a loaf of bread and a Baked potato ?

Sprouts would be nice – an affordable alternative to whole foods.
