After Uber Failure, Lyft Hires Dade County Lobbyists

Lyft, a ride sharing service, has hired three prominent Dade County lobbyists. The move comes shortly after lobbying attempts by competitor Uber failed.

Jorge Luis Lopez, Pablo Acosta and Mayra Del Rio all registered this week as lobbyists with the county on behalf of Lyft. Lopez and Acosta also represent the Miami Heat.

Uber had hired lobbyists Brian May and Timothy Gomez, but commissioners eventually killed a plan to legalize the service after lobbying by the taxi industry.
