The University of Miami Health System recently held a ceremonial groundbreaking for a new building in the Health District, the Miller School of Medicine Center for Medical Education.
The medical education building ” will incorporate robust technology features, flexible workstations and the largest auditorium on the medical campus,” according to Laurence B. Gardner, M.D., Miller Professor and Executive Dean for Education and Policy. The exact layout hasn’t yet been finalized.
A conceptual drawing appears to place the building on a UM-owned surface parking lot at 1099 Northwest 14th Street in the Health District. Construction permits haven’t been filed yet.
