There’s been some recent activity by the developer planning downtown Miami’s Okan Tower.
On October 26, a Covenant In Lieu Of Unity Of Title was recorded with Miami-Dade’s Clerk of Court.
The document is typically needed to obtain a construction permit. It must be filed within 10 days of the city granting approval of the covenant.
Kasim Badak, CEO of developer Miami 6th Street LLC, signed the document on December 5, 2019. It was only countersigned by the city recently, however.
City records show that there hasn’t been any activity on the project’s construction permit since December 2019.
Okan is proposed to rise 70 stories and 902 feet, with residential condo units, a Hilton hotel, and office space.
