Vertical Construction Underway At Miami Worldcenter’s ‘Jewelry Box’ Retail Building

A multi-level retail building described as a “jewelry box” by its architect is now going vertical at Miami Worldcenter.

Construction is also progressing at the 7th Street pedestrian promenade adjacent to the new retail center.

Both the new retail and promenade are located at Miami Worldcenter’s Block F-East

A 351-room CitizenM Hotel is  under construction on the same block.

Bezel at Miami Worldcenter, a 43-story tower with 434 units, is also under construction on the same block, as is another building at Block H which will include 922 parking spaces and 48,000 square feet of food and beverage and retail space.

The jewelry box building itself will have 78,264 square feet of retail, with a total building size of 135,208 square feet.

There will be two floors of retail, along with a usable rooftop. An “iconic” rooftop structure will top the building.

Tenants have not yet been announced.

NBWW is the architect.

Compare this to the design that was sold to the neighborhood years ago and it looks nothing like today. Deceit. Lies. And bait and switch. Right Nitwin?

Agree 100%. I still remember the slick video presentation. Yet, Hudson Yards, which this is sometimes compared to in scope, looks pretty much as it was intended to look. Much more “iconic” than anything here unfortunately. Maybe later on they might get around to adding fountains and outdoor art.

theyve been selling these lots to other developers..you think they care to follow MWC’s original “vision“? These developments are all about how to get the most out of the projects with the least amount of costs. “Iconic”’is not what they are aiming for.

Everything in this area should be world class. To have such acreage in the future heart of Miami and not do things to the highest level is very short-sighted.

“they’re too afraid to show beautiful architecture”

Why should I?.. the object is to promote mine, not yours.

What exactly is I mimic about this rooftop? Serious question. Is it going to be a rooftop bar or pool or just a green roof as shown in the picture?
