Video: Archaeological Excavation Continues At 444 Brickell After Human Remains Discovered

Archaeological excavation is continuing at the 444 Brickell site where three towers are planned, a new video shows.

Developer Related Group has plans for three towers on the property, including a 75-story Baccarat Residences. One of the tower is planned at 82 stories.

Demolition of one of the office buildings on the property was completed in April. A second office building at 444 Brickell has not yet been demolished.

In May, archaeologists announced that they had discovered prehistoric remains at the site following demolition, including bone artifacts (points, pins, drilled shark teeth), pumice, lithic weight, and pottery sherds.

In July, human remains were discovered, and city and state officials were notified.

The 75-story Baccarat Residences is scheduled to break ground on the property in January 2022, according to developer Related Group.

Enough time for Baccarat to back away from the deal and force Related to go back to the drawing board, literally with better architecture.

You do know that this is an Arquitectonica designed project don’t you? Unless Related changes architects, don’t expect something better.

Not from Florida and none of my business !
BUT , ice is a melting , oceans are arising why not re fit an existing building , let them history diggers get their “corpralites” which I didn’t read that they had found any but what ever ! You sound like your not aware of the value that history offers ? Read up on the plague and how they coped with that in London ! Whew , that in itself may change your perspective a bit ! As for the DOG WASTE mentioned , those people should be made aware of just how toxic dog dung is ! And signs should be posted with those ugly details , along with the proper way to dispose of the Canine CauCau !
Be safe and watch out for those storm surges …

Nothing like being so stupid you couldn’t learn anything from the last 10,000 years. What do they expect to now? At least the state is ran by a governor that isn’t a total deluded commie brainwashed fool like most of them are these days.

Few spelling errors in there but, blah, you get the point. It’s as important as the crap they’re digging out of the ground in Miami and I’m all for history and archaeology… And HISTORY is now this idea that once was great and too short lived known as America.
Jobs Schmobs, bring on the brainwashed university dum dumbs with their trowels, picks and paint brushes. We got petrified turds to dig up.
