Whens the empty lot in front of it going to be developed.

Château seems to take their time and are almost the last to develop. It’ll probably launch after Waldorf Astoria hotel is finished to capitalize on land and real estate values

You can’t build over two stories on that lot.

Is that true? I’ve also heard in the past that around the Freedom Twoer you cannot build buildings taller than half the tower.

Dunno

Yes it’s true. They are historic view corridors for the Freedom Tower.

Sorry. Downvote all you want but that’s the reason why nothing is built. The only thing you could build more profitable than the current parking lot is a parking garage with two floors.

This piece of land should really be Freedom Park; with a promenade to Miami Dade Arena and green entrance to the Miami Worldcenter area.

Yes, a promenade along an active freight line and intersected by a Metromover flyover… Why not adopt design guidelines to required articulating buildings, which most cities do to protect sightlines?

What are you talking about? The mover isn’t even on that lot. Neither are the tracks.

Or even an event space like Oasis in Wynwood would be cold there.

That’s not true there are two towers proposed there one in front of the hotel and one right beside the freedom tower

I believe that was before it was basically given away to MDC and left to rot.

You’re thinking of the lot on the other side of the Freedom Tower next to Elser.

Anonymous

That was a gimmick. Anyone can propose something and draw some towers but it doesn’t mean they can legally be built there.

You’re thinking of a different lot.

They should bring a low rise museum there

Last time I check, Freedom Tower was supposed to be a museum, at least the lower floors. The actual tower should be a boutique hotel.

Probably never, it gets full on game days

This is the sad truth. People would rather it be a dingy surface parking lot

I wish it could be used for a grand central station for an underground metro, but that’s just me being silly

Much nicer than I thought…excited to see the increase in foot traffic to the immediate area and hope most people here use metrorail, brightline and trirail…

Much nicer than the one in Brickell😱😱😱

It’s not hard to be nicer than a squat box plastered with horrendous murals.

At least the metromover blends in 🤷‍♀️

Unlike a train…-I mean beer can with squeaky wheels plods across.

A very handsome building and it’s not a highrise. Wonder if there’s a connection.
