The Miami Parking Authority will pay up to $50,000 to study building more parking spaces on Watson Island, according to Miami Today.
Developers including Flagstone Properties, Jungle Island, a seaplane operator, and a heliport operator have big projects in the works and requested the study. The developers have combined to chip in $25,000 towards the study.
The MPA oversees two surface lots on the island. Director of planning and development Rolando Tapanes told a board meeting this month that there is no expectation from the developers that new parking would be free.
