Westpine Brickell Gets Utilities For 328 Residential Units

The developer planning the 43-story Westpine Brickell tower has signed an agreement with Miami-Dade’s Water & Sewer Department to supply utilities to the new development.

According to the September 14 agreement, Westpine Brickell is planned to include:

  • 328 apartments
  • 1,600 square feet of full service restaurant

Timothy Haskin, listed as the authorized signatory, signed the agreement on behalf of Westpine Brickell LLC.

The project will also have 357 parking spaces, according to plans filed with the county previously.

In June, Westpine obtained FAA approval for a permanent height of 499 feet above ground, or 510 feet above sea level.

Also in June, a tree permit was approved for the property.

Behar Font Partners is the architect.

I’d be pumped to see a render that combines this with the “Calle8” building, Menese, Sentral, Gateway, Summit, One Southside, River District, and the other new buildings under construction. In just a few years, Miami’s skyline and streetscape are gearing up for a seriously impressive makeover in this part of Brickell that could get worldwide praise and recognition!

1,600 square feet of full service restaurant! Hope we get new retail too. Developers should max out the retail/restaurant component. Brickell needs a gourmet grocery store here like Trader Joe’s and Wholefoods – we could also use a mix of cosmopolitan and moderate priced eateries and boutique independent retailers.

anon

would you consider a national chain gourmet? could do with some local independent high end stuff tbh

But but

Not that high end, we want to make it affordable for residents not just tourists – Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods are ideal

Trader Joe’s and Whole Foods would need a bank loan to be able to lease commercial space in Brickell. Brickell and cheap Fort Lauderdale are not the same 🤦🏼‍♂️🤣🤣🤣🤣

The riverside just west of I95 is cheaper than Edgewater and Wynwood and walkable to Brickell with far less traffic than downtown. I think manu in Brickell and Miami generally would go there given the convenience and central location near multiple forms of transit. It’s a no brainer and we need nutritious food here!

I won’t personally receive anything; instead, the city will be the beneficiary. I’ll continue working diligently until our community’s streets are properly finished, both to enhance our local community and to showcase our city on the global stage. It would be disappointing to have to relocate elsewhere, given the immense potential Miami holds for the future, but people move — look what happened when NYC ignored the values voices of its esteemed residents.

The imminent population doubling, with its heightened demand for food and diverse dietary preferences, necessitates expanded customization options as we prepare for downtown Miami’s significant expansion. Furthermore, as the refugee crisis contributes to this population surge, can we harness this growth as a catalyst for progress and prosperity? With abundant talent and optimism in our city, I believe we can. In addition, we eagerly anticipate the arrival of Trader Joe’s, improved crosswalks with pavers and better lighting, as well as the introduction of attractive canopies. Let’s continue striving to infuse our community with joy.

Despite its grandeur and exotic condo towers, Brickell has a growing crime problem. There must be a greater police presence in Brickell. All the crimes you see in happening in Brickell could not happen in Park West, not even for a minute. Park West is saturated with police, from Miami World center, to 2nd Ave and Biscayne Boulevard, every ten feet there is a police car. I know cause I have to cross the street to get to the 24 hour CVS on the Biscayne side 🤷‍♂️

Anon

There’s no growing crime problem in Brickell. All you do is try to smear Brickell Conrad because you live in park west and orgasm at the thought of being the center of the city. There’s more crime in every other part of the city but brickell is the safest. If anything we need a new mayor to improve the city.

We kindly request anding cobblestone streets to this development, transforming SW 2nd Ave into a cobblestone avenue. With the support of Brickell’s billion-dollar projects in this area, this could make SW 2nd Ave an iconic destination like Rodeo Drive or Brickell Avenue, enhancing the project’s appeal and transforming Brickell into a true fully connected Miami city center with cobble stone streets like in West Palm Beach.

Live here and it’s one of the nicest areas, but they are far from “fine.” Considering your low standards and expectations for our streetscapes, it feels like you might wear your underwear for three days in a row. While that’s your choice, it doesn’t mean the rest of us should embrace sloppiness. Feel free to be relaxed at home. As for SW 2nd Ave, we’re making significant progress in crafting a picturesque pedestrian streetscape leading to the new landmarks.

I’m not a contractor; I’m a resident who lives and works in Miami. I frequently walk around the city and am frustrated by the litter and the dangerous conditions caused by poorly designed crosswalks, sidewalks, and bike paths without buffer zones. While it’s great that some areas like malls have attractive facades, I believe that all the streets in between should also be well-maintained, beautified with lush landscaping, signage, and proper lighting. This would contribute to the development of a modern, upscale urban core that continues to grow and evolve.

To be honest, Miami’s pedestrian experience is probably the worst of any major city in North America. I would welcome literally any upgrade to our sidewalks and crosswalks.

We can do both, the cobblestone is part of the walking experience. Even better! Using cobble stone and pavers has more than an aesthetic benefit – it’s also functional! In Brickell we don’t like the loud cars in Miami, so that’s actually a plus. Let them find place outside the core to real havoc where there are smooth roads and it’s not a threat to pedestrians.

Stop trolling Bruno. This is in East Brickell, at the center of the neighborhood. It’s located opposite Brickell City Center, the Brickell River District, Miro Brickell, and Brickell station. It’s undeniably in Brickell. Any tower, especially one funded by a low-income landlord with his own agenda, can choose any name they want, but we all know that doesn’t matter. This is Brickell. This area is closely linked with Mary Brickell Village and Brickell City Centre. As for the historic East Brickell district, it will inevitably face the question of whether to preserve its older buildings or make way for new developments, as well as how to upgrade the baywalk, sparking debates among residents 😄

The Brickell neighborhood isn’t centered around a mausoleum on Brickell Ave. While it’s great to appreciate its history, let’s not get overly possessive of the Brickell name just because you live on Brickell Avenue – you bought a property there, not the entire neighborhood.
