Northwest 6th Street has reopened to automotive traffic underneath MiamiCentral (but not pedestrian traffic yet).

It is the first time that the motorists are allowed to drive under the massive project, giving the public the first up-close view:

I walked around it this weekend. The glass and mullion combination is beautiful, it is browner than the photos show. The atrium/skylight is really impressive!

Browner? Sounds more drab, but I’ll have to see for myself.

I haven’t been in Miami since July but I can’t wait to see what this area looks and feels like once Miami Central is complete and so is Paramount. Hopefully, the area feels more like a city. Less cars would make it feel so.

No way this opens next month. Maybe end of this summer. Still exciting.

Not this month, no. But they did say the end of April, and that seems very possible.

I went for a walk around but the street was filled homeless all over the sidewalk….maybe with street open they will move west. West Palm station is real nice.

Apparently Publix is out, quoting from SFBJ: “followed by a major grocer that FECI has yet to name.”

Does anyone know what happened? Which major grocer will it be?

Some think Trader Joe’s, but personally I think it’ll be Whole Foods.
