City Of Miami Files Plans For Office Building Next To New Inter Miami Stadium

The City of Miami has filed plans for a new office building on a former golf course where the Inter Miami soccer stadium is planned.

The City of Miami Administrative Building is planned at 1822 NW 37 Ave.

For now, only renderings have been filed, but the project is at least 200,000 square feet and therefore requires a hearing before the city’s Urban Development Review Board.

The UDRB hearing is scheduled for April 17.

Arquitectonica is the architect.

Should have kept the offices downtown like we voted for as opposed to the edge of the city.

???
Offices, hotels, and commercial space was ALWAYS part of this project.
What are you talking about?

This project may have had that, but we never knew the city would love THEIR offices to this location.

with all the city of miami scandals right now, do they really need an Arquitectonica admin building next to a freaking stadium? Yuck; least it looks good.

For a city hall is the twenty-first century, it’s pathetic.

That is a bad location for most residents of the city of Miami. Amazing how they come up with this stuff. That image of the houses next to the building is not correct. The stadium is up against the canal. How would the houses intersect with the COM building? This is not a good thing for the constituents. Not sure who’s at the helm here??

This administrative building will be loaded with the bureaucrats that formerly infested the Central Business District.

Great trade in my opinion.

Add housing on the Miami River and move those bureaucrats by the Airport.

The city of Miami had plans to open a new office in downtown Miami at the Nexus project, but now they want to relocate to a new office building at the Miami mixed development?

The commissioners apparently don’t care about the fact that the voters approved a no bid deal to rebuild the offices in the same location downtown the same year the voters approved a soccer stadium, with zero office component, at Melreese Park. Not sure how you can overturn a ballot item like that…

Source.
I was always under the impression that the massive acreage was intended as a mixed use development with a little soccer stadium in the middle.

The source is the 2 different ballot items we voted on in 2018. One to rebuild the office at its current location in exchange for developers building residential around the new office. Another ballot to build a soccer stadium. I guess you didn’t live here in 2018 or just didn’t vote. Google it and you’ll see the ballot language that was used.

This project fronts 37th Avenue. The houses are on the opposite side.
I am not sure that the stadium will to so close to the building.
The parking garage can be used for stadium parking. A Metrorail station is located at the airport and Miami has free trolleys from that station .

This building and location does not make sence. What a waste of tax payers money.

Really?
How much are the tax “payers” paying for this?

Is it more than what they were paying for the golf course?

We have the City of Miami. The City of Coral Gables, The City of Miami Beach, A Miami-Dade Mayor, etc..why don’t we combine it and make it more efficient and powerful as a large combined city? No pet projects needed.

But we have the most photogenic mayor on the country . The entirely county is a garbage can, but she will not miss a picture or event

Perhaps at the area with hight crime rate.. to help keep the arra under supervised control by the commissioner stepping by on the way to the city hall

If a building like will attract top talent, Im all for it. Especially being next to the transit hub

Anonymous

That will only work if the Metrorail line is extended south, down Northwest 37th Avenue, to Douglas Road station, with stops in

between.

Top talent?
It is a government building.
It attracts lazy ass bureaucrats who arrive at 9am, and stop working at 4:54.
