Formula 1’s Miami Grand Prix Shatters Record For TV Audience

U.S. TV viewership of the Formula 1’s Miami Grand Prix this past weekend has broken records.

An average of 3.1 million viewers in the U.S. watched the event, ABC said.

That is 48% higher than last year’s 2.1 million viewers, and also above the previous record of 2.6 million U.S. viewers for the inaugural Miami Grand Prix in 2022, which held the previous U.S. TV viewership record.

The Miami Grand Prix holds all of the top three U.S. viewership records for Formula 1.

This year’s event attracted billionaires, athletes and celebrities from around the world.

Attendance in 2024 also broke records at 275,000, with organizers now saying they want to increase capacity even further to meet demand.

100% a good idea to expand capacity if people are willing to buy tickets. More people in attendance will be a huge economic boost to the county especially if they actually extend metrorail up to Dolphin stadium

I heard they were selling $200 sandwiches at the Stadium! insane.

Not true. Those were suite food prices(serves up to 10) that went viral on a misleading tik tok.

And if you saw photos of the actual food, it’s still insanely expensive. Was literally the food equivalent of bottle service

I had a $13 (Shula) burger at the stadium. Wasn’t great but it wasn’t $200 either.

This is good news for the remaining races in North America…especially Las Vegas. The locals are a tad miffed at the clumsy preparation from last year. But if the viewership is up and F1 does a smoother prep job this year…all this is good.

Dolphins average 15m per game…. So a totally different spectacle

Nothing comes close to football, including a mediocre team that plays out in Miami Gardens.

Great for the positive recognition of Miami, but….I don’t like the course. You can feel and see that the track is build on a parking lot.

Build a new stadium for the dolphins closer to downtown and build a new track where hard rock is.

Better than a certain soccer team over an over-hyped player.
