Miami’s Office Market Continues To Lead U.S.

Miami’s office market remained atop an index measuring foot traffic into office buildings last month.

The Placer.ai index analyzes activity in major office buildings nationwide, and compares it to pre-COVID levels.

Miami has enjoyed the fastest recovery of any city, the index shows.

In March 2024, that growth continued. Office building activity in Miami was up 8% over the same month in 2023, the report said.

Just to be clear, this is a metric measuring foot traffic in comparison to existing office space – this IS NOT a comparison of amount of square footage in MIA vs NYC

Still waiting on the results that aren’t LATAM operation relocations from elsewhere in the area.

As there are not many options for high-end commercial buildings, the few that Miami has are overcrowded, like anthills.

Miami is not a major business center. NY, the financial capital of the world, has the most robust office market by far.

Miami is leading the nation in development and economic growth.

People on this site think they are in a dead heat for some reason. In reality NYC has *several hundred million* more sqft of office….and millions more being built as we speak…

The people coming from NY all seem to disagree. I don’t think adding more spaces there helps. NY seems overbuilt.

NYC is so jealous of Miami…….

NYC Office SQFT: 451,000,000 sqft
Miami Office SQFT: 42,000,000 sqft

I’d rather have 42MM sqft that is filled vs. 451MM sqft that is empty.

They should move – they seem miserable reporting, maybe it would help the economy if they were happier.

Newsmax is headquartered in West Palm Beach, but yes most the operations are in NYC. Maybe a dual HQ like ABC in Burbank and the UWS?

Based in Midtown Manhattan isn’t the same as being based in a rat trap grotto in the Bronx.

Even with recent estimates of only half its workforce in the office, that’s still 225,000,000 sqft of fully occupied office space.

And? They have had a huge head start on Miami…..Miami may not as big but its much better

And nothing. And yes, I know that NYC has centuries on Miami – which is why these comparisons are always so ridiculous.

Agreed. A city that always compares to another is because of its own security. For example, the new york of the south, or wall street of the south, but better. Why would you compare to something saying you are that something but better. Is a contradiction. Anyway, miami people, not much in the roof!

Miami should put in maybe another 50yrs before you all have any proof this isn’t just a blip on a graph. You all are so immature. You think doing something for 10yrs is proof of anything. Wow.
