Proposed 750-Foot Brickell Tower Submitted To FAA

Building heights for a proposed Brickell tower have been submitted to the Federal Aviation Administration.

The filings were submitted to the agency on April 12.

According to the filings, a building height of 737 feet above ground or 750 feet above sea level is proposed.

The project site is the same as where a striking 65-story tentatively known as Calle 8 is currently moving through the approval process with Miami-Dade County planners.

Developer Millennium Developments of Brickell LLC also filed for a tree permit at the site on March 19.

Plans call for ground floor retail uses, a performing arts venue or retail complex, and 464 residential units and amenity spaces within the 65 stories.

I know it’s still too early in the game, but this project is amazing.
Hoping it will materialize and change our skyline

This building makes me want to stay. The mb tower makes me want to leave. And the dolce and gab tower makes want to move to a different state

Cool, go to New York and spend five-grand a month on a broom closet, while goblin invaders get free luxury hotel rooms.

Nice building. The podium is too boxy. Hope they improve it.

No they didn’t downgrade it. Typical troll comments

I don’t see any changes, apart from the shading and lighting being less exaggerated as renderings are typically.

A new landmark location in the making. Impressed by this design, perfect for this growing walkable area 🤩

Hope it gets a better name like 1ParkAvenue.

That would be a weird name considering we don’t have a Park Avenue in Miami.

Anonymous

Not yet, but soon we will… with new 9 million in park funding for this area, and enhancing Southside Park and Martí Park, we’re working on making this a park-centric upscale avenue for all to enjoy.

The podium is too boxy, but they won’t add liner units, there is an arts venue there

Better an arts venue than “art” mural.

Interesting ,the original proposal was 870 feet above sea level,856 feet above the ground and now it shrunk to this, wonder why ?This is not the first shrinking building either .Not selling as well?

Probably trying to save money. The podium became too boxy and ugl!y

I don’t think it has anything to do with sales. It’s too early for that to be a factor. As you said, it happens often. Just par for the course in development. People usually aim super high to begin, and then refine plans for many reasons including design and environmental studies.

Oh The once vibrant and culturally rich downtown Miami and Brickell districts have become emblematic of a troubling trend: overdevelopment catering exclusively to the ultra-privileged. Towering skyscrapers, adorned with opulent amenities and extravagant penthouses, dominate the skyline, while exclusive clubs and high-end boutiques line the streets below. However, behind the facade of luxury lies a stark reality of inequality and bias. The ultra-privileged flaunt their wealth with ostentatious displays, perpetuating a culture of exclusivity and entitlement. Their unchecked spending power not only distorts the local economy but also exacerbates social divides, leaving little room for the diverse communities that once thrived in these neighborhoods. As resources are diverted to serve the whims of the elite, essential services and affordable housing options dwindle, further marginalizing those without access to vast wealth. In this landscape, money dictates influence, perpetuating a cycle of privilege that prioritizes the few over the many, and reinforces biases that only serve to widen the gap between the haves and the have-nots.

That sounds like something a Miami suburban elite might say, someone from a gated community who feels threatened by urban growth encroaching on them and fears becoming irrelevant compared to the new, unified, walkable areas. The culture of this city is being enhanced and enriched—don’t let anyone convince you otherwise.

Saying that this area was once vibrant and cultural is telling—and could only come from someone unfamiliar with Miami. A decade ago, Park West was merely “gasoline alley,” but now it attracts people from all around the world, from various backgrounds and cultures. Brickell used to be inconsistent, with only a few good spots, but now it has transformed into a truly special place that is growing and drawing in top-tier talent.

Miami’s Urban Core has many towers with less than a dozen being noteworthy. This one will increase that number. It’s a good one.

This building reminds me of a worse mix of the Aston Martin, with that famous, horrible and unoccupied hotel in North Korea, the Ryugyong.

Aston Martin is amazing, and Ryugyong could actually be a cool building if it were completed and functional. My mom taught me if I didn’t have anything nice to say, not to say anything at all. I guess not all moms are created equally though…
