Total Demolition Permit Issued At Brickell Site Where 70-Story Tower Planned

A total demolition permit has been issued for a 10-story office building on Brickell Avenue to make way for a much larger tower.

The office building being demolished was built in 1971 and has around 100,000 square feet. It has already been vacated, and demolition activity began in January.

Miami’s Building Department issued the master demolition permit on March 22.

The Residences at 1428 Brickell, a 70-story tower generating its own electricity with photovoltaic panels integrated into its glass curtain wall, will be built on the site following demolition.

The new tower will rise 861 feet, and is being designed by ACPV Architects, with architecture by Arquitectonica.

Ytech is the developer.

Completion is planned in 2027.
